Karen Simpson, MS, RDN, CDN is a Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist, Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist, Certified Health Coach and Certified Personal Trainer.
Karen graduated from Long Island University in Brookville, New York with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and a Master of Science in Nutrition with a concentration in Exercise Physiology. She has a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Nutrition from Long Island University in Brookville, New York. She also has an Associate in Applied Science degree in Biological Technology from Farmingdale State College in Farmingdale, New York.
Karen has been a nutritionist for Stony Brook University Hospital in Stony Brook, New York where she has provided nutritional counseling services for bariatric and prenatal patients. She has worked as a Nutritionist/Lifestyle consultant at Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, New York for bariatric patients. She has served as an adjunct professor at Suffolk County Community College in Selden, New York, where she taught “Nutrition and Human Performance” to physical education students. She has been a sports nutritionist for Long Island University in Brookville, New York for students and athletes. She has been a personal trainer and exercise instructor for the Huntington YMCA in Huntington, New York. She has conducted corporate wellness seminars for companies on Long Island, New York, including Bristol-Myers Squibb and Rivkin Radler, LLP. She has given lectures on weight management, women’s health, pre/postnatal nutrition and fitness, popular fad diets, stress management, nutrition and disease prevention, heart healthy eating, behavior modification, shopping and cooking for health, sports nutrition, the female athlete triad, health and aging, vegetarian diets and more.
